On the Peruvian side of Titikaka lake, there're some floating islands called Uros, made with "totora". Their inhabitants make all their lives there fishing or selling their stuff to the tourists. Also, other natural islands like Amantani and Taquile preserve unique cultures, despite the big flow of tourism they receive.
We even had a "typical flirting party" with their original dresses! (thought it didn't work, I couldn't find the perfect Amantani guy to marry with :-D). And visited the Pachatata temple at night, in top of a hill under the brilliant Milky Way.
